Hamburg Card: FAQ

The Hamburg Card is Hamburg's official tourist card and offers unlimited use of public transport and discounts of between 10 and 50 % at around 150 sights and museums.
There are two variants of the Hamburg Card:
- For single persons (1 adult + up to 3 children under 15 years)
- For groups (5 people - adults and/or children)
Both variants are available with a validity of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days.
Hamburg Card for individuals:
- 1 day: 11,90 EUR
- 2 days: 22,90 EUR
- 3 days: 33,50 EUR
- 4 days: 44,50 EUR
- 5 days: 51,50 EUR
Group ticket (up to 5 persons)
- 1 day: 22,90 EUR
- 2 days: 40,90 EUR
- 3 days: 57,50 EUR
- 4 days: 73,50 EUR
- 5 days: 89,90 EUR
Children do not need their own Hamburg Card. Adults with a single ticket can take up to three children under the age of 15 with them. Alternatively, a group ticket can be purchased for up to 5 people (valid for adults and children).
The Hamburg Card entitles you to free use of all public transport operated by the Hamburg Transport Authority (HVV) for up to five days. You receive a discount of up to 50% for around 150 attractions and museums. The Hamburg Card can be purchased online and used on your phone. To do this, you need the free app "Hamburg - Experience & Save". Then show it at the participating attractions.
The Hamburg Card is valid for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 consecutive calendar days. The day begins at 0:00 in the morning and ends at 06:00 on the following day. Please note that these are not 24-hour units.
The Hamburg Card can be purchased online from our ticket partner Tiqets.com or in person at Hamburg tourist information centres, ticket machines, HVV service points and some Hamburg hotels.
The Hamburg Card is automatically activated on the day you selected when booking.
In principle, the purchase is non-refundable. However, you can purchase a refundable Hamburg Card from Tiqets.com for an additional fee.
No, a reservation is not necessary and not possible. Show your Hamburg Card at the participating attractions.
The Hamburg Card can be used during the opening hours of the participating attractions.
Yes, you can take the S-Bahn line 1 from the airport to the city centre.
The Hamburg Card entitles you to a discount on the hop-on hop-off buses of several providers (including The Red Double Decker and The Yellow Double Decker).
Yes, you can buy the Hamburg Card for several people. You will then receive several booking numbers that you must enter in the app. Each traveller with their own Hamburg Card needs their own phone. One phone is sufficient for a group ticket (up to 5 people).
No, the Hamburg Card does not give you preferential access.
No, with the Hamburg Card you can only visit each attraction once.
